Frequently Asked Questions

1 / How do I join the clinic as a new patient?

A: Referrals to our prenatal team must come from a physician. Please see your family doctor or walk-in clinic doctor for a referral.  Our phone and fax number are listed in the contact-us portion of our website

2 / Can I continue care with Womb To Grow after my baby is born?

A: Our doctors are not able to offer ongoing family practice care to you or your newborn, but we will continue to follow you through your prenatal journey and postpartum care. We will then return you and your baby to your family physician or other primary care provider.

3 / Can Womb To Grow provide referrals to other healthcare providers?

A: Yes, we do provide referrals to other healthcare providers such as obstetrician-gynecologists  if medically needed. Our team works closely with other medical professionals to ensure that you receive the best possible care throughout your pregnancy and postpartum journey.

4 / Do you see patients without OHIP?

A: At present we are seeing mostly OHIP-covered patients, however we may be able to offer care to patients who do not have OHIP as well - these referrals will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.  Please be aware if you do not have OHIP coverage or other provincial health coverage (excluding Quebec) a deposit that covers all physician services during your labour and delivery will be required at first appointment.

5/ Do you do home births? I am hoping for a completely natural experience!

A:  Our providers will work with you to support you in your birthing goals but always in a way that is medically safe and closely supervised.  We only offer deliveries at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.  We are happy to discuss labour interventions and help you decide between interventions (e.g. should I have an epidural or not? I heard horror stories about an episotomy - will I need one?)  We will help you to create a birth plan and experience that is flexible and safe.  Our ultimate goal is always healthy mom, healthy baby!

6/ I am not pregnant - can I come for fertility counselling or contraceptive counselling?

A: No, Womb To Grow does not provide fertility care. However, we may accept referrals for contraception services, such as IUD or Nexplanon insertion, on a case-by-case basis.
